Weight management 

UCi Family Health Center - santa ana

The Weight Management Program serves an average of 15 patients per class. Patients are partnered with a health coach for 6 months and receive one-on-one support. 



Educating patients on basic information about nutritional needs by using the healthy plate, nutrition guidelines and the plant-based Mediterranean model.


Create a supportive and safe environment for patients to address food issues while gaining knowledge about healthier eating habits.

Maintaining a healthy weight is important for health. In addition to lowering the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and high blood pressure, it can also lower the risk of many different cancers.

Concepts of Mindful Eating

 By addressing issues like emotional eating, food triggers and cravings we hope to introduce behavioral modification solutions.


 Patients will be educated on ways to stay more active and less sedentary. Every meeting will include time set aside for an exercise activity.
