Diabetes Management Class - Anaheim

Diabetes Management class in the Anaheim location goal is to create a unique, supportive, and interactive learning experience for Spanish-speaking patients.  Patients will comfortably gain knowledge, skills, and emotional support that can be translated into sustainable  behavior changes to confidently control diabetes.

The Diabetes Management class in Anaheim has served fifteen patients in acquiring education pertaining to the dynamics of diabetes and effective strategies to help overcome barriers in order to promote healthy management of diabetes.  In addition, during class a support group is formed within the patients in which they are happily encouraged to openly share their experiences (both successes and difficulties encountered) and provide emotional support for one another.

As the Diabetes Management class is relatively new (launched in Jan. 2015), the project is currently being carried out by two volunteer co-coordinators.
